I built my first personal website in early 2025. Looking at it again, I kept finding things I wanted to change. Eventually, those changes became a rebuild. This is the result: a place for the work I want to keep returning to.
I currently work in community operations. My previous work involved marketing and social media, and before entering this field, I studied journalism and communication. These interests have largely shaped the look of this website. There are some things I want to sort out through writing, and other things I want to leave time for you to look at slowly.
A photograph needs very little explanation to hold someone’s attention. Put several photographs together, though, and choices begin to matter: which comes first, how long a sequence feels, where to let it end. The gallery gives me room to make those choices. I can arrange an album and send someone a link to the whole of it.
Writing offers another kind of arrangement. An observation from work may be easy to remember and surprisingly difficult to explain. Writing it down means choosing an example, following the explanation far enough, and noticing where my own understanding runs out. I want this site to have room for that process.
The articles have English and Chinese versions. Each language needs its own sentences, and sometimes its own way into a subject. The language switcher connects the two versions so readers can choose the one that suits them.
The project pages explain the tools I am building and the choices inside them. They will need revision as the projects change. Videos are hosted on my YouTube channel and embedded here. The site itself is built with Astro; I have written about its workings on the project page.
I have no posting schedule to announce. For now, there is a place to put the next finished article and the next set of photographs. Over time, I hope the connections between them become easier to see.
